Signal RVA Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By accessing Signal RVA, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. Signal RVA may update these Terms, and continued use after updates means you accept the revised version.
2. Informational public-safety product
Signal RVA provides public summaries, map context, source-health context, and links related to Richmond-area police, fire, EMS, traffic, weather, aircraft, rail, and civic signals. Signal RVA is not a government agency, emergency service, public-safety answering point, dispatch center, law-enforcement agency, fire department, EMS agency, or official alert system.
3. No emergency reliance
Do not use Signal RVA to report emergencies, request help, make evacuation decisions, navigate around active incidents, or make safety-critical decisions. Call 911 for emergencies. For official instructions, use official city, county, state, law-enforcement, fire, EMS, transportation, weather, and emergency-management sources.
4. Accuracy and availability
Live data may be delayed, incomplete, duplicated, misclassified, approximate, unavailable, cached, corrected, or removed. Map pins may represent exact, geocoded, or area-level locations. Camera, traffic, aircraft, rail, weather, and dispatch feeds can fail or change without notice.
5. Permitted and prohibited use
You may use Signal RVA for lawful, personal, informational, journalistic, civic, and sponsor-evaluation purposes. You may not use it to interfere with responders, follow incidents, harass people, identify victims, trespass, evade law enforcement, commit crimes, scrape at abusive volume, bypass access controls, or republish data in a misleading or unsafe way.
6. Third-party sources and links
Signal RVA may link to or summarize public or third-party sources such as maps, traffic cameras, public active-call pages, weather alerts, aircraft signals, rail signals, or official/public listen pages. Those sources are controlled by third parties and may have their own terms, restrictions, delays, and outages.
7. Audio, radio, and restricted material
Signal RVA is designed to show public summaries and official/public listen links or embeds where allowed. You may not use Signal RVA to request, publish, or distribute private playback URLs, captured cookies, restricted streams, unlicensed archives, tactical notes, credentials, or private collection methods.
8. Sponsor and advertising content
Sponsor or advertising placements do not influence incident summaries, map pins, source labels, safety language, or editorial ranking. Sponsor content is not emergency advice, legal advice, medical advice, or an endorsement of any responder, agency, person, incident outcome, or claim.
9. Intellectual property
Signal RVA branding, page design, summaries, data transforms, scenario visuals, and original presentation are owned by Signal RVA or its licensors. Third-party source material, maps, camera portals, and linked content remain owned by their respective owners and are credited where visible.
10. Takedowns, corrections, and safety requests
Signal RVA may correct, generalize, suppress, or remove public cards, pins, images, or summaries when a request identifies a credible safety, privacy, accuracy, copyright, or sensitivity concern. Signal RVA cannot remove official public records, third-party pages, search-engine caches, or source data it does not control.
11. No warranties
Signal RVA is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. Signal RVA does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, accurate, complete, timely, secure, suitable for emergency use, or free from errors.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Signal RVA and its operators are not liable for losses arising from use of, inability to use, reliance on, or misuse of the site, including decisions based on delayed, approximate, incomplete, incorrect, or unavailable information.
13. Governing law
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
